Meat On Meat

Last Saturday, I attended a farewell party for one of our dental technicians. We went to Travesso Grill, a Brazilian churrascaria (sp?) restaurant in the middle of Chinatown, Yokohama - a strange location for such a restaurant. The menu was all-you-could-eat Japanese style buffet plus Brazilian-style MEATS! Meat was coming out the wazoo! It's enough meat to provide you your supplement of iron for an entire year! If you haven't been to one of these before, basically the waiters come out every few minutes with a different type of meat on giant skewers (i.e. swords) and go person to person delivering the goods. This included everything from garlic steak to chicken hearts to sausage to beef "hump" (I guess from a bull or buffalo). The end was a treat, featuring grilled pineapple with cinammon. And of course, it was all you could drink also for an additional ¥2,200, which included draft beer and all manner of mixed drinks. It was delicious, but not something to do every week unless you like ground beef flowing through your veins!
