Mangia! Mangia!

Which translates to "Eat! Eat!" and was my Italian grandma's favorite expression. It's also this cozy Italian restaurant in Queen's Square at MM21, Yokohama where we went for dinner on Saturday night with my inlaws to celebrate Akemi's dad's 73rd birthday. The place definitely had the look of the Maggiano's or Vivo's chains in the states. The food was tasty, but definitely in smaller (i.e. non-American) portions. We had a set menu arranged by Akemi's mom prior to, which consisted of a prawn appetizer in pesto sauce followed by an entree of either white fish or roast beef, accompanied by freshly baked foccacia bread, then finished off with cheesecake and espresso. We also shared a bottle of a nice Italian Chianti (but not liver and fava beans!). Akemi's parents were still hungry following the set meal, so they also ordered a prosciutto pizza, which had a wafer thin crust and the best cheese I have probably ever had on a pizza!

A nice time was had by all! Here are some pics:

The view of the MM21 dry dock from the restaurant.

Masaaki-san trying on his swank new jacket that we gave him!

Hey, I've been to that drydock before! I remember! Sometime a long time ago. Was it a dream?
